Note: AuditoryVoIP is an SIP client (softphone). In order to use AuditoryVoIP, you require a paid internet telephone account with an SIP provider and a fast internet connection, e.g. WLAN or LTE.

1. Register your SIP account in the app

To register your SIP account in the app, you need your SIP access data: user name, password and the server address of your SIP provider. Select the technical communication protocol supported by your provider (UDP or TCP).

Please note: We recommend using TCP since UDP does not fully support background mode for the app.

2. Select your personal hearing preferences

Select your personal hearing preferences using the test signal.

Activate “Hearing Support”. Please note: by default “Hearing Support” is activated when starting the app.

Automatic loudness adjustment

Set your preferred loudness setting using the volume control buttons on your iPhone. Every VoIP call will now be output automatically with your chosen loudness so that you can easily understand quiet conversations but loud signals are not too loud. Please note that volume changes using other applications (e. g. when listening to music) will also change the loudness setting of AuditoryVoIP. We recommend to check the loudness setting within the app before making a call. You can also adjust the loudness of the telephone signal during a call (see 3.).

Loudness Boost

In case you wish more loudness boost, please activate “Loudness Boost”.

Sound adjustment

Adjust the audio signal to your personal hearing preferences by trying out different settings with the slider. Swipe the control from left to right to emphasize high frequencies. Swipe from right to left to emphasize low frequencies.

3. Adapt the hearing settings during a call

You can also adjust the loudness of the telephone signal during a call by using the volume control buttons of your iPhone and adapt the sound setting by swiping the slider in the corresponding direction.
